About this site

Gutter Service Pro is a guide to gutter cleaning, repair and new gutters, written town by town. It covers 14,432 towns and cities of 1,000 people or more in 48 states and the District of Columbia. Despite the name, it is not a gutter company.

Where the figures come from

Normal rain, days with an inch of rain or more, snow and frost dates are NOAA’s U.S. Climate Normals for 1991–2020, from the nearest station within 25 miles of each place. The short downpours a gutter is sized for are NOAA Atlas 14 estimates at each place’s center point, read from NOAA’s published grids; Atlas 14 does not cover Washington and Oregon. State rules are quoted from the statute or licensing board where this site has read them. Homes, owners and the year homes were built come from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, 2020–2024 five-year estimates. Rules are quoted from the agencies that make them. Every source is on the sources page.

What this site is not

It is not a gutter company or a contractor directory. It does not clean, repair or install gutters, sell gutter guards or employ installers. It does not rate or review businesses. The phone number on these pages connects you with independent gutter contractors; how this site is paid explains the arrangement.

Corrections

Fees and rules change. When a state changes its rules or NOAA publishes new estimates, the pages are rebuilt from the new source.
